Paisley Perfect

Romper: c/o: Tobi // Sunnies: old, similar // Turquoise Ring: Francesca's, similar // Bird Ring: Five Below, similar // Sandals: Gap (old ) // Purse: Sears // Belt: old, similar // Earrings: old, similar // Lips: Wet N' Wild in Rebel Rose

This paisley print romper is my favorite item of all the Tobi items I received. The colors and the pattern give me that luxe bohemian feel. The only way to do this romper justice was to go full on 70s vibe. I put on some shimmery eyeshadow, winged liner, and a frosty pale lip. I decided to go with a matte version of the lip to keep the look updated. Of course, no 70s inspired look is complete without a classic pair of aviators, some hoop earrings, and a fluffy half ponytail. I had a pair of oversized hoops that I love, but thought it would be a bit too much. Anyhow,  this romper is perfect for a summer date night, and can take you right into fall. I can't wait to style it by adding a long cardigan, some opaque tights, and cute booties.

Talk to you later, loves!

Romantic Mauve

Top: c/o Tobi // Jeans: thrifted, similar // Flats: Target // Purse: Target, similar // Necklace: Francesca's // Cuff: old, similar // Ring: Five Below, similar // Earrings: Old, similar

Some of the simplest designs and silhouettes just make me happy. I have another post in collaboration with Tobi. Earlier this week I showed you this awesome romper and today I give you the sweet side of things. When I first eyed this top I wasn't to sure about the neckline. On the model it looked gorgeous, but I'm just not used to wearing really low or necklines. When it arrived at my doorstep I immediately tried it on.  Because the neckline was so low I found myself tearing apart my drawers for the only two bralettes I own. (I will definitely be working on getting more.) Once i dug it out I realized how much I like this top. The mauve color and the ruffles at the end of the sleeves and the bottom make the top extra romantic. It's perfect for a casual date night with Bae. It has that "I wanted to get dolled up, but I wanted to be comfy too" vibe. Like I said before if you haven't check out their website yet, then you should.

My Recent Skin Care Routine

Hello Friends! I don't share a lot a beauty related posts often, but I thought it was time I updated you on my skin care routine. Since I turned 30 in May, I felt it was time to update the routine I've been using for the past 12 years. As I get older and read more, I realize that our skin needs different things at different stages of our lives. With that in mind, for the past 2 months I have been using new products and wanted to share my thoughts with you. I hope this post can help you guys in any way.

The Dream Team

These three products (pictured above) are all I have been using. Other than the occasional mask and scrub, this is where it's at. I know lots of people have fancy eye creams and extra night time treatments, but I like to keep things as simple as possible. I mean, think about it. We are constantly putting so many products on our face from moisturizers and oils, to multiple layers of makeup that our skin doesn't know how to behave in reaction to that. By no means am I a scientist, or know the chemical makeup of each product, but I do know form experience that if you do too much you're gonna get some form of a break out or bad reaction.

I discovered the Neutrogena Hydro Boost products when we got a display in the store full of their new products. I've always thought that Neutrogena had really good skin care products. I used to use their Facial Bar for years. I've used it since I was a teenager, and it's very good and reliable. So I was curious about the Hydro Boost line. To be honest, I only ended up purchasing the products because I put their moisturizing gel on my arm where I was having an allergic reaction, and it soothed my itching and redness instantly. I mean INSTANTLY! If it did that then, I knew that it would do wonders for my skin. The set up is a three step process that starts with the gel cleanser, then the serum, and you finish with the gel moisturizer. Since these items are a bit more pricey than the normal drugstore cleansers and moisturizers I only opted to get 2 items: the cleanser and serum. I picked up The Oil Essentials oil the same week because it was on clearance.

You only need 1 to 2 pumps of this stuff to get a deep clean. It's one of the few cleansers that I've tried that doesn't make my face feel overly tight and dry after. I do have dry skin, so anytime I wash my face there is sure to be some tightness that follows. For the most part this doesn't make my skin feel like cracking into a million pieces. It's also lightweight, refreshing, and non-abrasive.

When I've seen serums advertised in the past, they always look oily and thick. This serum is nothing like that. It works just like a moisturizer, but feels so much lighter. Not much product is needed. I take about 2 small pumps and it completely covers my face. I make sure to dab a tiny dot under and around my eyes, so they feel refreshed. That's pretty much all I do in the morning.

There has been plenty of buzz in the beauty community about face oils recently. I've always stayed away from these oils, because they were thought to cause clogged pores. Well, oils actually do cause clogged pores, but I've found that the key is moderation. When I first bought this oil, I decided that I would only use it every other night. After about 2.5 weeks, I used it every night. Three to four drops is all I need to evenly cover my face and neck. Believe it or not, but this is actually the first time I've ever moisturized my skin at night. I normally put nothing on my skin after washing at night, because I don't like the way it feels against my pillow. So during the morning, I use the serum as a moisturizer, then I swap it out for the oil at night. It's very soothing and moisturizing and did not cause any breakouts. This oil can be used for body, hair, and bath. Sometimes I'll add a few drops to my bath water to help me relax before bed. The oil is free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic dyes.

I've linked the entire Hydro Boost line below with a few decent priced facial oils. I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll talk to you later. P.S. This is not a sponsored post!

Have you guys ever had that color that just emanates who you are? Well, today I bring you the color of my summer soul. Okay it's the color of my Autumn soul too! Seriously I love this color. I find that it complements my skin tone very well and just makes me happy all around. The only color that could probably top it is mustard yellow. I was gifted this gorgeous romper from Tobi. If you haven't heard about this online shop then you are missing out. I spent days just going through their inventory and bookmarking lots of pieces to my favorites tab. The vibe of Tobi is California / bohemian cool. Most of the clothing read airy and light. While browsing their website, I kept thinking "If I was a rich girl..."

As I was browsing I came across this rust colored gem and just had to have it. My only concern was that it might be too short. I have that problem when it comes to rompers. I also wondered how well it was lined because the fabric looked very thin. But to my surprise it was very well lined. The color, the flared sleeves, down to the tiny buttons, every detail was absolutely perfect about it. I see many more summer days styling piece. A cool extra is that if you sign up for their email you can get 50% off your first order.

Have a great day friends!

The Ruffled Shoulder

Top: old, similar // Jeans: thrifted, similar // Shoes: Forever 21 (similar) // Bag: Forever 21 (similar) // Necklace: Forever 21 (sold out) // Ring: Rue 21 (similar) // Sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar)

Hello loves! So remember last week I told you guys that I cleaned out my closet, well here's another gem that I found. This one shoulder top from Old Navy is at least 7 years old. It's super cute and still fits! The best part is that it's trendy again. When I first bought this stop the one shoulder trend was gaining lots of momentum. I absolutely loved how simple and comfortable this top was, so I bought it. I've actually worn it on and off for the past few years, but now it's back on trend. I love when I keep items in my closet that I love without any regards to when they will be trendy again. Then when they do come full circle it's the best feeling. Anyways, since this top is rather old, I've linked a bunch of cute similar tops below so you dolls can get this look. Talk to you later!

Simply Blue

Dress: Old Navy (similar color) // Shoes: Converse, (old, similar) // Purse: Forever21 (similar) // Sunnies: Forever21 (similar) // Choker: Five Below (similar here and here) // Necklace: Francesca's (sold out) // Earrings: old, exact copy //  Bird Ring: Five Below // Watch: old, similar // Cuff: old, similar //

Hello loves. Today I have a new post for you featuring some not so new threads. This blue dress is one of the few sporty pieces I own. Most pieces I own are a mix of feminine, bohemian, and classic with a few staple pieces. If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have caught a small glimpse of me cleaning out my closet this past week. I mean I did a deep cleaning. I pulled everything out, dusted, vacuumed, and even caught the baseboards. I was so amazed at how much dust had collected in the crevices between the carpet and wall. I swear I'm not a huge fan of wall to wall carpeting, but this is a rental.  Anyhow, after I was done, my closet sure looked better. I think I'll do a separate post on my closet clean-out and organization tips, that way I can go over my entire process.

So while, I was doing that I found this piece in there. I hadn't worn it in over a year, but I remember I loved it so much. The reason I hadn't worn it in a year was that I had gained some weight. Last summer I wanted to wear this dress, but I put it on and saw that it was very ill fitting. I wasn't ready to part with it so I stuck it back in my closet. I was at my highest weight then, which was 150 lbs. This coming form a girl who normally weighed 136. So I had gained 14 lbs from my normal. I'm currently down to 141, since last summer. So I thought "why not try it on see if you still love it." I tried it and of course I loved it. It's such an easy piece and super comfortable. I swear I can always count on Old Navy for pieces like this. The best part part about this piece is that it can also be dressed up. Anyways, since this dress is an older piece, I linked some similar pieces below, although it was really hard to find similar pieces in this particular color.  I hope you all have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by.
