Hello lovely readers! It's Friday and I'm excited because I only work half a day tomorrow. I will get to enjoy the beautiful weather that is coming our way. Also yesterday was my blogaversary! Yes it's been a year that I have consistently posted to this blog. I know I didn't do anything special like other bloggers. I wanted to get a #1 balloon and put on a pretty dress, but I just opted not to. Instead I spent my blogaversary morning giving my deserving pup an much needed day at the dog park. It was absolutely gorgeous and I didn't want to waste the day for him. He's been couped up inside lately. He gets so excited when we get the leash because he knows he's going on a trip. Marley was so exhausted from yesterday, that when we brought him back home, he spent the rest of the day laying on the patio outside and later snoring on the couch. I actually have an old Instagram video of him snoring. He is super loud. I never heard a dog snore until him. It the most hilarious thing.

Anyhow, I wanted to thank all of you guys for following this little adventure of mine. I know I haven't been as consistent as other bloggers, but I'm trying. Balancing 2 jobs (one full time, the other part time), a boyfriend, a dog, family and friends, and a blog, its tough, but it's all worth it. Hopefully I will be able to dedicate more and more time to this little passion project of mine. I love doing it and you guys following along make it all the better. I love you guys. Thanks for listening to my random ramblings about my dog and my life, and things that have no relation to the outfits pictured above at times. Thanks for stopping by, and I'll talk to you guys on Monday (where you'll see me with straight hair)!

Hello loves! Happy Monday. I wanted to share what I'm currently craving fashion wise. Of course most of these are slip on sneakers.  I've been thinking about these since my recent trip to Old Navy. It was just a quick stop in but, I saw a pair in gold and couldn't stop thinking about them. All of these are $25 or under. Also I've been in need of a new pair of boyfriend jeans. My Old Navy ones don't quite fit as they use to. I think the last time my boyfriend washed them they shrunk.

On another note, I've been seeing black distressed jeans all over Instagram. The black distressed jeans are the one pair of jeans I don't own. The last pair I owned, I wore them so much they faded to grey. Anyways I hope you all had a great weekend and I'll talk to you guys later.

Happy Wednesday! Today's post is pretty short. I wanted to let you guys know about these cute Old Navy smoking flats. They are so cute and comfy. I spotted them at Old Navy on Saturday and couldn't resist buying them. Here's why. #1 They are flats, so they will definitely be used often,  #2 they are Buffalo Checked, #3 they were on major discount ($6.50), and #4 did I mention they are Buffalo Checked!!! At that price I wanted to buy the grey and blue plaid ones, but they didn't have my size. Anyhow, if you guys like these flats, you should hop on over to your local Old Navy and Check them out. The price is a bit higher on the website, but totally worth it! They come in other cute colors too. I'll talk to you guys later. Thanks for stopping by!

The Sportiness of Marsala

Forever 21 Shirt (similar) // Levis Jeans (old, similar) // New York and Company Cardigan (old, similar) // Old Navy Sneakers // Express Bracelet (sold out)

Hello loves. Sorry for not posting yesterday! I had a few mishaps to deal with so I couldn't fit the time in before work to post, but I'm posting today, so there's a positive. I wore this outfit Sunday and used my iPhone 5 to take the pictures. I was excited to have Sunday afternoon off and just enjoy it, I didn't even think to take my camera. The day was absolutely beautiful, the temperature was in the 70s. We decided to take Marley to the dog park and he had the most amazing time. He's been couped up in the apartment lately since the weather hasn't been great. He got along with all the other dogs and he even made a friend, a huge German Shepherd named Max. He literally played with him the entire time. The BF and I relaxed, and just watched as he lived it up. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and if you were in Central Louisiana, I hope you took full advantage of Sunday.

Also, I wanted to let you guys know about these shoes I got from Old navy on Saturday. In store they were on clearance for $6.50. They are $14.99 on the website. They are pretty comfy. i bought them to use at work and so far they are serving their purpose well. I also got a jump on the Marsala (Pantone's 2015 color of the year) trend with these babies. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Shop This Post

It's Saturday and I have a new post. How exciting (LOL)! I'm doing my best to get in my 3 posts a week and here is #3 for this week.

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and was inspired by all the preppy sweatshirt and collared shirt looks I've been seeing. I absolutely love this sweatshirt. I've been thinking up ways to style it for the blog for some time now. It seemed that everything that I put together was just blah. So I never got to feature it until now. And I'm glad to say that I am proud of the result. Now I tried searching for a similar sweatshirt to this one in the same color, but I came up with nothing. I've linked some really cute jeweled sweatshirt alternatives below that are just as cute.  Also, the necklace was out of stock online, but you can sign up for an alert for when it is back in stock.

So what do you guys think? Do you like this pairing? Let me know in the comments below. As always, thanks for stopping by and I'll talk to you guys again on Monday!

Winter Lipstick Faves

Winter Lipstick Faves1 // 2(no longer available) // 3 // 4 (no longer available) // 5 // 6 // 7

Hello! Happy Thursday! Somehow I've been on this lipstick kick this past year. I've been keeping my face really subtle while sporting bright and bold lips. Especially all throughout winter. I've come to stop with the pale lips and embrace the dark side (of lippies that is)! So, I thought it would be great to share some of my favorite winter lipsticks with you. These are the top colors that I have been wearing all winter long.

The Reds

I was never a red person when I was a teenager. This was a discovery from my college days. Too many YouTube beauty guru videos I guess, but since then I realized what every one had been telling me all along. I actually look great in RED! The reds I prefer are deeper ones, like #2. It's MAC Limited Edition lippie in Fixed on Drama. I remember when this lipstick was everything. Getting this lipstick was somewhat of a "meant to be" story. I went to my MAC counter and they said they were sold out. A girl comes from around the corner as I was leaving and said one had fallen in the drawer and that it was the very last one. I usually don't spend $14 for a lipstick , but this was well worth it. It's a matte and I so love it.  If you missed out on this fabulous lip color then just go to your local drugstore and pick up #1, Wet n' Wild Matte lipstick in Cherry Bomb. It's an awesome dupe for Fixed On Drama and it only costs $2, and the staying power is amazing. You can't beat that!

The Purples/Plums

Now onto my purple love. Last year, Pantone had deemed Radiant Orchid as the color of the year. So every one everywhere was buying up all the fashion and beauty goodies they could get in this color! I of course fell for the trend and boy I'm sure glad that I did! I never thought I could look good in a deep purple lip. I always felt like it was a bit harsh, and I had always gone for that ethereal, natural beauty look. This lip color looks amazing with the right outfit and just takes your look to another level! #3(Revlon' Shameless) is a matte balm and literraly lasts all day. I've maybe only reapplied this lipstick once every wear. It's also a great dupe for MAC's Heroine, which every beauty guru/blogger was raving about last year. #4(Maybelline's Lavender Voltage) is a creamier version of the same color. Now when I apply this lippie, I definitely have to apply an extra layer because it can run a little sheer at first application. It was a limited edition lipstick, so it is no longer available, but if you Google it I'm sure you can find an easy dupe.

The Pinks

And last, but definitely not least, the pinks. As you can see the bright pink variety is probably my most worn of all. These three pink lipsticks are pretty much the exact same color except for formulation. #5 (Revlon's Cherries in the Snow) is a creme. #6 (Wet n' Wild's Cherry Picking) is a matte, and #7 (Maybelline's Vivid Rose) is a vivid sheen. OK, so maybe I'm obsessed with the same pink color, but once you find the exact right pink for you, you go a little crazy and want to buy it in every possible form (or maybe that's just me).

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! I'm feeling a little mentally drained at the moment. I wanted to show you guys what I wore last Thursday. I wish I could show you guys what I would be wearing on the weekends, but you all know that I work all day and am stuck in uniform (not so fashionable). Although, this Saturday I have the afternoon off so I'm looking forward to catching up with my Dad! As I mentioned earlier he hasn't been feeling to well lately. (This is one of the reasons I'm a little drained.)

You know how you have that one person in your family that shares the same passion for something or a subject as you do! Well that's my dad for me. We're two peas in a pod watching the history channel, discussing world matters, and listening to his life stories over and over. Believe me guys they never get old! I also get my keen ability to dress well from him. He was a sharp dresser in his day! And compared to most people my age, whose dad's are probably in their 50s/60s my dad has probably had double the life experiences and life lessons that some dads have had. He just turned 83 in November! The fact that he can do most things for himself and is sharp as a tack is amazing! He's always pushing me to do more, to achieve more, to be the best possible version of myself. He's a great man! No wonder my mom fell for him.

Sorry this turned into a rave about my dad, and not about the outfit. That wasn't the intent, it just sorta poured out as I was typing. I hope you guys enjoyed this little glimpse into my personal life. Thanks for reading and have an awesome day! And if there is someone out there you're missing or just cherish, make sure to call them up and tell them how awesome they are and how much they mean to you.
