Today marks the return of my Charming Gifts holiday series. Now that Thanksgiving is only a few days away, I can really get excited about the season. Not only am I pumped to put together these gift guides, but I'm also excited to see all the other guides out there.  My main rule when creating a guide is to keep all the items under $100. I want you all to get inspiration and be able to give to all your friends and family without having to break the bank. I have a few more guides I'll be sharing with you throughout the season. I know some bloggers start earlier than I, but that's okay. It's better to be a little late than never at all.

Up first is a guide for all my #GirlBosses.  This is your friend who is always on the go and makes sure to get that hustle. It seems like we are surrounded by these ladies constantly. Why not make life a little bit easier for her by getting her these essentials, and when she's made it to the top she think about how you contributed to her climb. Believe me a pretty travel mug and organized desk can do wonders for a girl! Happy Shopping!!!

Blanket Scarf Coziness

Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and I wanted to style a Thanksgiving appropriate outfit. Now some families get really jazzed up for Turkey Day, but my family tends to keep it more on the casual side. I like to layer a shirt under a good comfy sweater, add skinny jeans, and anchor the look with some boots. I'll add a scarf to jazz it up. The blanket scarf is the perfect accessory just in case the weather turns a bit chilly. I don't go all out on my accessories because, I have a few baby cousins and I like to play with them sometimes when visiting. Too much jewelry can be really fussy especially when dealing with kids. I'm not sure if I'll be wearing this exact outfit for Thanksgiving, but I definitely will be repeating the scarf and the boots!

Hello again lovely readers! So I put this outfit together thinking it would be a perfect fall / winter date night ensemble. It could also double as a holiday ensemble, especially if you are heading to a holiday soiree and it's cold outside. I love a great sparkly heel when putting together holiday looks, but I also like to have my legs shielded from the cold. I tend to get cold easily. I've been told by several (more than several actually) since I was small that I have an abnormal sense of temperature. Now I'll admit that I do. I get super chilly if the temperature drops below 75, but that's the sacrifice I'm willing to make since I'm so over these summer like temperatures. Anyhow, I am absolutely in love with this skirt and sweatshirt. The jeweled sweater is a great accent to brighten up an fall/winter look and the skirt is just darling. It's actually spring skirt, but the royal blue peaking from underneath the lace makes it wintery (I know not a real word, but eh).

I hope you guys have a lovely Wednesday and I'll talk to you later. If you don't follow my blog or Instagram you totally should. You can follow my blog on Bloglovin' and Instagram! Thanks for stopping by.

P.S. I couldn't find a similar clutch to mines, but I've linked some gorgeous ones below.

Hello loves!! I know it's been a while since I posted. I'm truly sorry about that, but conflicting schedules (my boyfriend/photographer works days, I work nights) combined with the weather and the end of daylight savings time has been the cause of my little hiatus. Since we both had Sunday off (little miracles right) I decided to shoot more than one outfit so that I would definitely have 2 posts for this week. Also I wore this outfit a while back, but didn't get to shoot it until now. I really wanted to share it with you guys, so I put everything back on and this is the result. Also I'm so excited that the temps are dropping. Slowly, but they're dropping.

Now about the outfit. This coat is probably my all time favorite coat. I have quite a few, but this one is everything I could ever want in a coat. I got it from New York & Co. in 2008, when I worked there. Yes, I used to be a NYCO girl! I even did my senior internship there when I was in college. I loved my NYCO days! Heck, I have so many classic pieces in my closet from that store. If you ladies are looking for a place to get all your work wear and staple pieces, this is the place!

I also have this strange love affair with the colors grey and blue. I'm more into these colors during the colder seasons, and I can't help it. Everything I see during fall and especially winter looks better in grey and blue. Now these are not my all time favorite colors, but the seasons do dictate the colors I gravitate towards. Anyways, I hope you all are having a great Monday! Love you and talk to you later!

P.S. Thank you for all of you who continue to follow me. I honestly can get so discouraged to continue  blogging when I see other bloggers who haven't been blogging longer than I have accomplishing more than me. And I know I shouldn't compare, that my path is my own, but hey we're all human. Thanks again, love Xan!

October 2015 Beauty Favorites

Hello loves. Sorry for not having a post for yesterday. I probably won't have an outfit post at all this week. I was off the entire weekend (Friday thru Sunday), but I didn't get to shoot any outfits because it was raining every single day. Most of my time was spent cuddling on the couch with my BF and pup, sipping coffee/tea, and catching up on all the blog posts I missed out on during the week. Even though it was a rainy weekend, it was a relaxing one. I actually felt like I just got to be still for a moment and not think about much. I left the house twice during those days. The first was on Friday, only because I had to get laundry and dishwasher detergent, and the second was on Sunday. I made a short trip to Joann Fabric, just to get out of the house for a little bit and spark my creativity.

Anyway, I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorite beauty products of October. So here we go.

1. The temps are slowly dropping in these parts and I'm noticing that my skin is becoming drier everyday. So to combat that I stash this small size Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion in my purse. So after I wash my hands i make sure to put this on afterwards, it does an amazing job. It's a classic for a reason.

2.  Lately, I haven't been wearing much makeup other than on the days that I shoot outfits. So on all the other days, I just use my Revlon Color Stay Concealer in Deep. It's the one concealer that I found matches my skin perfectly and it's not cakey. It really makes me look fresh and awake, without the  obvious "you have concealer on" look. I use this concealer under  my eyes and on the base of my eyelids. It gives my skin an even-tone.

3. Since, I don't have on any foundation, I make sure to shape my eyebrows. For the most part, my brows already have a great shape. I don't do much plucking, except for strays. Wet n' Wild MegaClear Mascara gives my brows that extra polish that I like. It's no fuss and it's quick and easy.

4. The Sephora Outrageous Volume Mascara in Ultra Black has been becoming a favorite for sometime now. This mascara amps your lashes up to the max. The only problem I have with it is that too much product comes out onto the brush. Now, I combat this by brushing the brush across the tube, then lightly applying to my lashes and building up to a second coat. Honestly, you could get a way with one coat, but I'm a mascara junkie so my lashes have to look like they are on steroids! Side note: If you don't like wet mascaras, then I'd say stay away from this one, but if you do, then I promise you'll love it.

5. Also to combat this temperature drop, I started using my Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm again. I totally forgot how much I love this stuff. I usually use my Maybelline Baby Lips Neons, because they go on slick and don't dry my lips out. This lip balm is a little more heavy duty. My lips ten to crack a lot and when they do this lip balm eases the cracks and splits. I use it under any matte lipstick I'm wearing to keep my lips form drying out.c

6.  Last, but not least, when I'm craving color on my lips the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm in Shameless has been my go to color. It's matte and stays on all day. This color was a favorite of mine's last winter, and I still cannot get enough of it. It's the perfect shot of color for any bare face. I never pair this lipstick with darker eyes, because I only like one dark element to my makeup at a time. There are some beauties out there that can pull off the dark eyes / dark lips combo, but I am not one of them!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekends, whether it was rainy, sunny, hot, or cold! I'll talk to you guys later and thanks for stopping by.
