Happy Wednesday! I hope today is going great. For some of you guys today is a short week. For others it's just the same old same old. I'm on a 8 day work week, so tragic. But that's okay, I'm use to it by now. Anyways, I'm showing you a glamorous look that I put together on Christmas Eve. I was planing on wearing this, but then opted for jeans, a sequin sweater, and my OTK boots (won't stop wearing these). I was just going to be hanging out with the bestie and her family, so no need for the overdressing. I hope you guys can use this look for some NYE inspiration. I know there are those ladies out there that just don't care to be overloaded with glitter and sequins, there are those that opt for simple pieces that still make statements. So if you're not a fan of the sparkly cocktail dress, try a long black one. It's super dramatic, looks good with all accessories and can make you the center of attention in a room full of sequins!

Also, for all my readers out there, I love and adore each and every one of you! Today is the last day of 2014 and I couldn't end this post without thanking you. I remember the first couple of months I started blogging again. I wasn't gaining any readership. It felt like for the longest the only person reading my blog was me, and it was getting frustrating. I would look at other bloggers who hadn't been blogging that long and compare myself. I thought, why is it so hard for me and so easy for them, what's their secret?" I thought maybe this isn't for me. After some hard thinking, I had to tell myself, "that's them and you are you. Keep pushing and working towards your goals, keep posting even if no ones reading, keep promoting even if you're the only one promoting yourself, keep loving what you are doing because, eventually others will start reading and others will start promoting you, and others will love the content you put out because it is all you! I woke around 2am checked my email and saw that I had reached 75 followers on Bloglovin'. Now I know for some that's nothing, but for me it's something. It means there are 75 people out there who consistently return to my blog. Of course I have readers who stop by every now and then, and I appreciate you too. But those 75 people and the 10 that follow on GFC make me want to do what I do everyday! Eventually I'll reach more people, I'll work with more brands, but I'll always remember you 85 that ended my 2014 year! Happy New Years to all of you! Have fun tonight, be safe and remember, tomorrow is a new year full of possibilities, and I plan to make the most of it! Come on 2015, show me what you got!

Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' , GFC, and Instagram! All other handles are in the right side bar at the very top! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello all! Happy Monday! If you work Monday after a holiday aren't they the worst. You're laying in bed wishing that your alarm clock didn't go off and somehow its still Sunday. I hope you all had a great time with family and friends for Christmas. Now that Christmas is over with, everyone is preparing for New Year's Eve! I feel that it is the one day out of the entire year (besides your birthday of course) that you can go all out with the sequins and sparkles. It's like there can't be too much (okay maybe there can be to much, but if done right can be amazing. If you guys are looking for some inspiration with sparkles, check out my previous post on NYE outfits. I'm still not sure of what I'm going to wear or if I'm going to go out, but I have a few things lined up.

Anyway, this outfit of course has nothing to do with NYE. I wore this about a week ago, when the weather was gloomy. I thought it would be the perfect time to break out my Richard Chai x Target trench coat. I found this coat at Goodwill in brand new condition. I swear, the lady who owned it before me either never wore it or she took very damn good care of it. I think this line was from 2008. So for it to look this nice after 6 years is amazing. Lately it's been rainy here, and I've honestly haven't been able to get any good pictures. I did another outfit shoot with my grey tulle skirt, but the overcast lighting was horrible so the pics weren’t great. I wanted to show you guys that before Christmas, but hopefully I'll get to shoot it again soon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week ahead.

Hey loves, Happy Friday. I know I've been lacking in the post dept. lately but I'm trying to get back at it! It's been a really busy week. Hell, it's actually been a really busy and exhausting 48 hours. My  Christmas did not turn out at all how I planned it. From spending Christmas Eve the in the ER till 4:30 am Christmas morning to spending Christmas night picking up some stranded friends. I swear we didn't get back home until 11:00 last night. We were both exhausted and just wanted to go  to bed. Then later that night I sat up in bed for about an hour and a half. Then got up and started walking around the apartment. I finally hit the sack around 2:30. And of course I had to be up for 6:30 this morning!

So Christmas Eve we went to my Bestie's family home to celebrate Christmas. She hadn't been feeling well because she had a sinus infection. Later we all get back home, I sit down for five min max, then get a phone call from her, saying she needs to be rushed to the emergency room. We stayed with her till they finally released her at 4:30 AM. She somehow passed a small gallstone without knowing she had them. It was pretty scary for a minute. She could barely move, she was in so much pain. However, everything worked out OK. So we slept until noon, then headed to my parents.

We spent Christmas with my parents and my grandmother. After we got home last night. We weren't even good into the house when we get a call saying that Kerry's brother and his girlfriend needed a ride back home because of car trouble. Anyways we didn't get back until 11:00.  So that was our night. I know this is not on topic for the actual posts, but I just had to get it out.

On a brighter note, here's some New Year's Eve outfit inspiration for you. I normally wear a dress, but I'm feeling like I need a change this year and sparkly pants would be a great option. I actually bought these pants a few days ago, but I'm not sure if I'm going to wear them for NYE.

Thanks for stopping by and listening to my rants on my unusual Christmas. Wishing you guys a happy weekend and I'll talk to you later.

Hello loves. I'm so excited to share another look, styling my OTK boots. Now I'm also styling my grey cardigan from the previous post. Yesterday, I was just feeling uber cozy. I didn't have to go to work until 4 pm yesterday, because we have extended holiday hours. So I got to wear something cute before hopping into my uniform. The best part was that I got to shoot it! Kerry normally has to work from 8am to 4:30pm, but he wasn't feeling too well so he decided to call in. After sitting around the house for a few, he started feeling better so I took this rare opportunity to do an outfit shoot. Well, he asked if I wanted to do one since he was available to do it. And of course I said yes! Heck I wish we were on the same schedule, because I would have way more outfit posts than I normally do!

Anyways, after shooting we had a coffee date, then I got him to accompany me to Ulta. Yes, he came to Ulta with me!! I was shopping for a new flat iron, because my trusty one of 5 years finally went to hair tool heaven. Yep, I was going to smooth the frizzies out of my hair (as you can see above), I plugged in the iron, it heated for about 2 minutes, then died. At first, I thought maybe the outlet had to be reset, but no. I tried every outlet in the house and had to accept the cold, hard truth. So naturally I was freaking because it came at the worst time. Kerry came to me and said it's okay Bae, we'll just get you a new one. So, while we were in Ulta he saw the prices of the flat irons and was like, "are you serious, $150 for a flat iron??!!" I told him that it was normal and that women will pay top dollar for a hair tool that will work properly. He asked me how much mine cost and I told him that it was $40 when I purchased it, but I searched for it, and it's $70 now! And that flat iron never let me down. Now I'm thinking I wanna try a different brand although, I know that the one I had before was perfect. The manager was telling me about the T3 irons, but I still wasn't sure. So dolls, if you guys have any suggestion on an affordable flat iron that works miracles, (my hair is naturally tightly coiled and kinky in some areas) let me know in the comments below, or tweet me at CharmingXanadu! I would accept any help in this dilemma.

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by! Also don't forget to enter my giveaway! Ends Dec. 23rd!

MonoChromatic Bliss + Vedette Shapewear Giveaway

New York and Company Cardigan (old, similar) // Vedette Bodysuit in Judith c/o // Target Skirt (old, similar) // New York and Company Clutch (old) // Claire's Tights (old, similar) // Bjorndal via Rack Room Shoes (similar) // Charming Charlie Necklace (old) // Express Bracelet (clearance in store, sold out online)

Hey loves. Hope you all are having an awesome Saturday! I know that I am, only a half day of work, yes!

Anyway, I was asked by Vedette Shapewear to review another piece from them. Remember back in October, I reviewed one of their bodysuits. Well, I mentioned to you guys that I had another piece to review later. Well here it is. Her name is Judith and she is so pretty. I know that Judith is very similar to Noelle but, the bottom of this bodysuit is different. Like Noelle, Judith has an adjustable hook and eye closure at the bottom that makes it easier to get on, but her bottom is that of hipsters with a lace trim. Judith reminds me of those retro undergarments women wore under there dresses in the 1940s . It fully covers your bottom and makes you feel more secure. These bodysuits are really amazing! They make anything you're wearing appear smoother.

Just like before, the challenge was to pick shapewear in my favorite color and style it as outerwear. As you saw before, I chose nude because of it's versatility. This time, as I was picking out pieces in my closet to pair with Judith, I knew I wanted to go for a more comfy/cozy girl next door look. Even though shapewear tends to be very sexy, I wanted to make Judith seem less intimidating. And since it's December, what better way than to wear this piece. Overall I really enjoyed styling this piece and I love this look. So, what do you guys think  of Judith? Let me know below.

Ok, so onto the giveaway rules. The same rules apply as before and are stated below:

1. Follow this blog via Bloglovin' or GFC and Like Charming Xanadu on Facebook!
2. Like Vedette Shapewear via Facebook!
3. Comment below that you did all three and leave me your name and e-mail address.

Three winners will be picked to get a surprise piece of Shapewear from Vedette. Good Luck to you all and thanks for stopping by! Giveaway ends December 23rd at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Happy Thursday loves. Yay!!!! On more day until the weekend! Finally i can be excited about the weekend because I'm off from work Friday and I work half a day Saturday. I also have my BF company Christmas Party to attend and I get to sip wine and wrap presents with the Bestie. When I get a weekend off, which is rare, I try so hard to jam pack so much stuff into them, even though I know it's not possible. (A girl can try right?)

Anyways, I was looking forward to getting jazzed up for the Christmas party, then his boss goes and makes it a casual thing. But don't worry I will still dress up somehow even if it's just nails, a bold lip, and statement accessories! I'm not new to being the oddball of the crowd. On my to do list for next Christmas: Get invited to more dressy holiday parties or host a glamorous one myself! I've always loved dressing uber glam, but there aren't too many places here that you can go and won't get looked at oddly. Louisiana is a pretty casual state style wise. When Kerry (BF) and I started dating he thought I loved fashion too much to be from here. He thinks I would fare better in Europe, more opportunities as far as the fashion industry goes. Also it's his sneaky way of trying to convince me to move to Germany, his great love. He lived there for a number of years and loved it. If you wanna compare his love of Germany to something, think of Carrie (SATC) and the episode where she says new York is her boyfriend and nobody talks about her boyfriend! That's Kerry's relationship with Germany. Who would have thought I'd end up with a Louisiana native who speaks fluent German??!! Now to dust off my French skills so we can both be bilingual.

I hope you all enjoy your the rest of your week and the upcoming weekend. May you all attend lots of glamorous parties, drink lots of champagne, and be grateful for those two days that most of us don't get off from work and keep me in spirit at those glam outings! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Friday All. as you guys can see, I am definitely loving my OTK boots. I have so many ways I want to style them. I just can't get over the awesome price I got them for. I'm always on the hunt for a good bargain.

Anyhow, this is what I wore Wednesday. I ran a few errands and went to my parents for a visit before heading to work. My dad got to see Marley (my pup). He hadn't seen him in a while and really wanted to see him. My dad is hilarious when it comes to Marley. He's always trying to get Marley in trouble with my mom. She doesn't allow Marley on her couch, so my dad will call Marley to sit next to him and then my mom will come in and tell him to get down. Funny thing is that Marley falls for it every time. Marley was also excited to see Dad. He sat next to his grandpa the entire visit. It was great.

On a side note, I'm thinking about doing holiday outfits for the blog. You know, Christmas Party looks, New Years Eve, those things. If you guys would love to see that let me know. A friend of mines also suggested that I do makeup looks (she works at Sephora), but I kinda stick to the same neutral palette when it comes to my face.  So I don't know about that.  OK, so thanks for stopping by loves and I'll talk to you soon!

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share what I wore for Thanksgiving with you guys. I was most Excited to style these over-the-knee boots that I got a few days before Black Friday. Now they felt like a Black Friday score because I got these babies for $21. Yep, a whopping $21. I found them in my local Target.

Funny thing is that I've been wanting a pair of OTK boots for this season, but put it off cause I thought it wasn't in the budget. I was browsing the shoes section, waiting on the BF to get groceries ( I love food, but I hate grocery shopping). I wasn't planning on buying anything, but then I saw these beauties! I was like "No way, what a great price," but after looking for a while I couldn't find my  size. There was only a size 6 on the shelf! Then I thought, "Noooo!!!!" So a few days later I decided to take a trip to the Target on the other side of town, not sure if they would have my size. I walked in and made a beeline straight for the clearance shoes. And like the glorious light that would surround something magical, there they were, the only pair left and in a size 10! It had to have been a sign that said, "Xan, these boots belong to you! We've been waiting for you to take us home!" So, I scooped them up and made a mad dash to the register, and walked out as happy as a songbird! Oh how I love the thrill of an amazing deal!

Anyhow, I had a great Thanksgiving with my family. I didn't do any Black Friday shopping. I accompanied the Bestie to Express and Charming Charlie so she could scoop up some holiday deals. But for the most part, I spent the morning at home then headed to work.

I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week. Thanks for stopping by, and I want all of you guys to know that I am truly thankful for you! You continue to keep coming back to my little blog and that makes me oh so happy. Also it makes me want to continue doing this blog thing. So thank you so much for your support!

Love Xan
