Hey loves, Happy Monday. I'm a little bit sad today. I had the entire weekend off and honestly I just want to rewind and do it all over again. The BF and I got to enjoy my cousin Samantha's beautiful wedding Saturday. (If you follow me on Instagram then you can see a picture of the lovely bride.) On Sunday we got to spend the entire day roaming around town. I really needed this weekend. Two full days off when everybody else was off was amazing. I got to spend two full days with the BF and see the family. Total awesomeness!!!!! So onto this outfit.

I wore this outfit on Thursday, since I had the day off. I wanted to wear a fall like outfit, but I knew it was still kinda hot outside so I opted for and in-between look. Fall on the top and summer on the bottom. After I put this outfit together, I thought I looked a little 4th of Julyish with all the red, white, and blue.  I paired the look with some sparkly accessories. I still liked the outcome so I went with it! So what did you guys do this past weekend? Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are enjoying your week. I was doing some online browsing lately and thought it would be great to share a few of the items I've been craving lately.  These pieces would be so great to add to my closet this fall. The best part is that most of these items are under $50. I'm always trying to find the best deals when shopping, especially when it comes to trends. What are some of the items you guys have been craving or adding to your wishlist? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for stopping by.

#MyCosmoStyle Challenge: A Day at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Hey Loves! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. Today's post consists of vacation style: a little bohemian, a little decadent. I was asked by Vegas.com to style different outfits for their #MyCosmoStyle Challenge. The challenge consists of styling different outfits for a day spent at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. Now packing for a trip can be overwhelming, but to pack for a trip to Vegas can be something else all together. Vegas is flashy, sexy, and full of high energy. While the Cosmopolitan has many attractions and entertainment, I decided to style 2 outfits. I styled a look based on what I would wear to lounge at their Bamboo Pool, and what I would wear to one of their onsite clubs, Rose. Rabbit. Lie. I feel these looks embody my overall style while still giving Vegas vacay vibes. Tell me which is your fave look, and what would you wear if you had the chance to stay at The Cosmopolitan? Thanks for stopping by!

Top: New York and Company (old) // Jeans: New York and Company (old, similar) // Booties: Bjorndal via Rack Room Shoes (similar) // Purse: Phillip Lim x Target (no longer available, similar) // Necklace: Wal-Mart (in stores now for only $10) Bangles: Mix of stores (similar) // Nails: Revlon Gel Envy in Double Down // Lips: L' Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire in Blushing Harmony

Happy Thursday all! I know I've been on this strict schedule of posting every Monday, Wednesday,  and Friday. So I'm sorry if you guys were expecting a post yesterday. I was off from work and so was the BF. We had the entire day together which is rare (more like never). So all I wanted to do was just hang out with him. I even relieved him of his photography duties. We did some chores around the apartment, then went to CC's Coffee to grab some coffee and do some computer work.  Later that evening, we came home and finished watching Pulp Fiction (one of his faves). It was hilarious situation on how we ended up watching this movie. He was talking about the movie the night before and he asked me if I had ever seen it. Now I know this movie is a classic, but I never saw it. He gasped and said "We are going right now to buy this movie, so you can watch it!" Five minutes later we were in the car on the way to the used movie store. I'm glad we went though, because the movie turned out to be hilarious! The man is passionate about his movies.

Okay so about this outfit. My friend Crystal, text me the morning of and said that she was in town. So I got dressed and decided to meet her for lunch. We had just spoken about meeting up for lunch soon. I wanted to be relaxed but, still look dressed up in some way. So I chose this ruffle leopard top I've had for some time now and my grey skinnys. I really adore this top. The only thing is that it is sheer so I have to have a tank underneath. Well that makes it less desirable in hot weather. Anyhow, I had a great time meeting up with Crystal, even-though it was short. It's always nice to catch up with people you rarely see and sorta pick up the conversation where you left off! It's like you just saw each other a few days before. Well guys, I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll talk to you guys soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Monday loves! I hope you all had a great weekend. I did for the most part. I got to spend Saturday morning with the BF! This is an exciting thing because, as you guys know by now, I work weekends and he doesn't. It was truly nice. Okay so onto the outfit.

I've had these harem pants in my closet for quite some time now. I bought them to wear to a job I previously had (I also have these pants in grey). Fast forward and they have only been worn a handful of times. I guess I really couldn't figure out how to style these without looking silly or ultra trendy. I decided to challenge myself and style them. This is the result of that. I feel the overall look became very masculine. Pairing a statement necklace, fun belt, and a red lip softened the look. I don't go for very masculine looks, so I always try to add feminine touches. Now that I've styled these pants, I'm going to make it a point to wear them more. So dears, tell me what you guys think? I would love some feedback.

P.S. Sorry if the quality is a little off. These were taken with my iPhone 5c.

Happy Friday! I hope you all have been well. I'm continuing with my love of Fall, even-though it's still scorching outside. I feel that during Fall it is so easy for me to fall into bohemian, grungy styles. I think that those styles embody the Fall. The darker colors, the looser silhouettes, it all says comfy Fall days. I wore this outfit on Wednesday. I was off and the BF and I decided to just go to the park. Our days are opposite. He's off on weekends and I work all weekend long. So when we can, we try to spend as much time together as possible. I'm a pretty simple girl when it comes to dates. Walks in the park, exploring new places, watching a movie at home, these are things that I like to do. Although every now and then I don't mind the fancier dates! It gives me a reason to wear my most flirty/girly/glamorous pieces! Well thanks for stopping by and I hope you guys enjoy your weekend!

Liebster Award Nomination

Hello all! Today's post is a bit different. It's a "get to know me" sort of post. I was nominated on Twitter by the lovely Chloe of Hello English Rose. Thanks for the nomination Chloe!

The award is way for bloggers with less than 200 followers/ readers to get themselves out there and connect with other bloggers. So if you're nominated for this award here are the rules.
  1. Post a link to the person/blog that nominated you on your blog
  2. Answer the questions given
  3. Choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers
  4. Pick 11 questions for them to answer
  5. Let them know you nominated them
Here are the questions I was asked and here are my answers!!!

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to  document my style and stay connected to the world of fashion. I started this blog 4 years ago, but didn't keep up with it regularly. Then last November, I realized I wanted to give it a go again and be more dedicated and here I am, retail manager by day, blogger by night!

2. What is your favorite Shop?
This is a hard one. As of late i would say that I frequent Old Navy alot. The managers there know me by face now (LOL!) Also I love The Loft and Banana Republic Factory (when I can make the trip out there, it's 1.5 hours away).

3. What is your favorite actor/actress?

I would say Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks are my fave actors. I've seriously never seen a bad movie by either. They are true masters of their crafts. My fave actress would probably be Anne Hathaway so far. Her style is amazing. I like to think of her as a modern day Audrey Hepburn.

4. If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Not sure about this one! Maybe telekinesis. Moving things with my mind would be awesome!!!

5. If you had the chance to do anything in the world, what would it be and why?

It would probably be to travel around the world for a year and experiencing the different cultures. I have the biggest case of wanderlust. I'd also be marking off all the historically significant places off my list, like sitting in the Sistine Chapel, walking the halls of Versailles, and seeing the Parthenon.

6. Your dream holiday(vacation)?

My dream holiday would be in relation to number 5. Like two weeks in Tuscany would be amazing. It just has so much to offer. Beautiful countrysides, rich culture, and amazing historical architecture.

7. If you had the chance to be any character from any movie/ TV series or book who would you be and why?

This would be a toss up between Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series, or Piper Halliwell from Charmed (my all time fave TV series). They are both strong, intelligent females that fought hard to protect the ones they love, and they love fiercely and compassionately. i see a bit of myself in these two characters.

8. If you could only eat one type of food what would it be?

It probably would be boudin or mashed potatoes and rice with smoked sausage. Boudin is a staple here in central and south Louisiana. I mean it's so good. if any of you ever get the chance to visit Louisiana and try some boudin please do. You won't regret it. and ask the locals, they'll guide you to some of the best. They're experts! As for the mash potatoes it was my all time fave growing up. So I guess I'm a little nostalgic for it!

9. Biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is ignorant people or rather people who choose to be ignorant. Not due to lack of information out there, but rather choosing not to explore. I find it hard to hold an intelligent conversation with someone who can't see both sides of a situation before forming their opinion about it. Ignorant people become consumed by their own ideals that they refuse to except others for theirs. It's how we miss out on great friends in the world.

10. What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a successful visual merchandiser/ stylist. There is just something about putting together outfits and merchandising fashion related products that relax me and drives me. I love it. I get so caught up in the creative process. I get to challenge my imagination often. I use to manage at a store dedicated to jewelry and accessories and one of my main responsibilities was merchandising the product, telling a story with it and I adored it.

11. Your biggest fear?
My biggest fear would probably to become a failure. At the end of the day, I want to know that I gave it my all, that I did my absolute best and I succeeded. I'm slowly realizing that it's okay to fail. But I'm still not there yet. I'm driven to blog because I love it but also, because I want it to be successful. The past year and a half has taught me some hard lessons about failure. I'm also learning that the defined path I mapped out for myself isn't always the best for success, and I think that's why I'm so hard on myself about failure.

Okay. So now that you guys know a little more about me, I would like to know a little more about you. I nominate
  1. Katharina of Katharina Berghofer
  2. Arielle of Tangled Musings
  3. Raina of The Embellished Closet
  4. Allie of Luminous Prep
  5. Leslie of Southern Flair
  6. Amberly of A Slice of Glam
  7. Natasha of Moody Girl in Style
  8. Alexandria of Rambles and Roses
  9. Cynthia of Senorita Cyn
  10. Michelle of Michelle's Blog
  11. Corrange of Corrange
And here are my questions...
  1. What inspired you to start blogging?
  2. What is your favorite past-time?
  3. If you could live anywhere in the world for 1 year where would it be?
  4. What do you count as your biggest failure and how did you overcome it?
  5. What is your favorite sweet treat?
  6. What is your dream job?
  7. Describe your style in 2 words?
  8. What was your favorite subject to study in school/college and why?
  9. What is your all time fave book or film?
  10. Who is your fashion/beauty icon and why?
  11. What is your life's motto?

Hey guys. It's Monday, which means it's back to the old grindstone. Or in my case back to new blog posts. So the day I took these pics it was hella hot outside. I mean it was 95 degrees. I had to run a few errands, so I wanted to be comfy, while still looking put together. Also I'm still craving fall and wanted to wear my oxford booties. So I literally  built this outfit around my shoes. I'm pretty sure there is a lot of people who do this. Boots are literally my fave footwear and I wear different variations throughout fall and winter. Heck , I actually wore a pair of my combat boots to work for the past 2 days and I'm sure I'll be wearing them today! Anyhow, I hope you guys have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone.  If you guys didn't know, I have this deep love affair with plaid flannel shirts. This love comes from my mom. She always wore plaid shirts! It was like her staple piece, her ultimate neutral. If you were to look back at all her past Driver's License pics you would see what I'm talking about. When I was younger, I really didn't think much of the plaid shirt. I thought "It looks manly! Why would anybody want to wear that?!" But, now that I'm older, I see why. They are amazingly comfortable and perfect for fall weather. Here it's still 95 degrees when it's not raining. Not the best weather to be wearing flannel shirts in. So fall weather hurry up and get here, the heat is killing me! It rained before we took these pictures so it was a bit cooler outside. I have several plaid flannel shirts, and I so plan to collect more! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and I'll talk to you guys on Monday. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Wednesday!!! Hope everyone's week is going great so far. Today's post is rather short.

I wore this dress while running around town with the boyfriend last Thursday. We didn't do much except for hangout and eat together. The day was a rainy one so we tried to get in shots during the break in rain. I love florals anytime of year. The deeper mauve color and the deep red floral print make it a perfect fall floral dress. Also the lace back is something to be admired. It was the aspect that made me buy the dress in the first place!

Hope you guys have a great remainder of the week. Hopefully I'll talk to you guys on Friday! Thanks for stopping by!
