Happy Thursday my dear readers. I must say I'm trying to be on a roll with these blog posts. So, finally an outfit post. I know its been a while, but as I explained in a previous post. It's a conflicting schedule thing. Anyhow let's get onto the outfit!

Okay so if you guys have been following my Instagram since March, then you saw me post a picture of this dress saying I couldn't wait till we had cooler weather to wear it. (If you don't follow me on Instagram go ahead and tap the links on the right side bar. It would truly make my day!) I've been itching to wear it and finally here she is, making her debut. I got this dress at Banana Republic Factory Store on major discount. I loved the fit and the feel so much that I bought it in 2 colors. The other one is grey and white. Hopefully, you guys will see it too this winter.

The dress is made with something they call forever yarn, which makes the dress really soft, like cashmere! This dress was originally $80, but I got both colors for under $35! OMG what a steal! They have this dress in a leopard print and a striped print for this year. I've linked really similar items below. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope to talk to you soon.

Charming Gifts Holiday Gift Guide: The Girly Girl

Charming Gifts: The Girly Girl

Happy Monday! I hope you all are doing well. It's that time of year where we all start to think about holiday shopping. This time can be really exciting (I love shopping for gifts) or it can be very stressful if you're not a fan of shopping. So I decide to make it a little easier on you guys and give you some inspiration for your shopping lists! I am calling this series Charming Gifts (you know cause I'm Charming Xanadu, LOL). First up, The Girl Girl. Everyone has this girl on her list so here's some ideas to get you thinking! Happy Shopping and thanks for stopping by!

I know I haven't really been doing outfit posts lately. Honestly, it's because the BF (my photographer) and I are on opposite schedules. He works during the day now and I work mostly nights. And on the days that I am off, he doesn't get home until 5:00. As you guys know, it now gets dark at 5:30 so we don't have this vast window of time to shoot outfit pics. Hopefully, I will be back with at least 2 outfit posts this week.

The Puffer Vest

The Puffer Vest
Hey Loves! Happy Hump Day, I hope you are all well. Today's post is about my recent obsession with puffer vests. They are everywhere! I keep kicking myself for not buying a green one I saw on sale at Old Navy  for $8 earlier this year. When i saw the vests I was like, "Xan no you do not need that. Walk away." It's so true that the things we don't buy haunt us. Anyhow here is a round up great vests to add to your wardrobe. Happy Shopping and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday! It's a pretty dreary day here in my part of Louisiana. We have been blessed with beautiful fall temps this past week so I shouldn't complain. But for all you bloggers out there, you know how that can mess with outfit shoots. And because of the weather, lately all I want to do is cozy up on the couch, get into a good book and relax. I just finished The Da Vinci Code (great for a history major like me) the other night and it was amazing. I hadn't got lost in a book like that in a long time. I'm so excited to read The Lost Symbol (the next book in the series). Now I know this book series is old, but I was always discouraged to read it because it is a 496 page book. Now that's some intense reading to take on when you haven't read a novel in a long time, but Dan Brown had me engaged the entire time. To motivate myself, I told myself that I could not watch this movie until I read this book. Now I can finally sit down and do a book to movie comparison (something I really like doing)! I think I'm going to try to commit myself to one book a month. That way I get back to enjoying something I truly love. Reading is good for the soul.

Anyways, you guys probably want to know more about the outfit. So I wore this about two weeks ago and totally forgot to post it. I forgot exactly what we spent the day doing, but I'm sure it was great. Spending time with the BF is always a great thing! Most of the time all we do is talk about history (more me talking while he's listening), politics (more like he's talking and me listening), and exploring new places. Or we will relax and enjoy our new found love for Modern Family.

I put this together with the intention of restyling this blue Old Navy body con dress I got back in May.  You can see it's original debut to the blog here. I love how it turned out. Perfect for fall. I want to restyle this dress again, but I'm thinking of styling it more on the sporty side.

Well, thanks for stopping by and listening to my random musings. I hope you all have a great week ahead.

My October Beauty Faves

October Beauty Faves
Hello Loves! I thought it would be cool to share with you the recent beauty purchases I've made and those that have become my faves. So let's just jump into it!

Okay, so I only bought this body wash because Kerry (the BF, now you know his name) uses the Nivea 3 in 1 Mens Body Wash and I had a coupon for $3 off 2 body washes. There was a sale on the body wash also, 2 for $7 so why not try it. Let me just say that I think I am totally head over heels for this body wash! After one use my skin felt ultra soft. No kidding. I don't know what they put in this stuff, but my oh my keep doing it. Now I know why the BF is obsessed. (Must trust his opinion more, LOL).

2. Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat and Base Coat
I was looking for a new base coat and top coat to try and stumbled upon this duo. I have to say that I think I have found my ultimate nail duo. I have been using my Essie base coat and Sally Hansen InstaDry top coat for months now. It was the best duo I had found in some time, but the Revlon beats these two hands down. Normally, when I do my nails, the mani last about 2 days (3 if I'm not working much with my hands) before it starts chipping. With the Revlon duo my nails don't start to chip until day 4! If you guys haven't tried this duo, you must!!! This is definitely on my repurchase list!

3. Maybelline The Nudes Palette
I have been wanting to try this palette since it first came out. Lately I've been telling myself not to buy things all willy nilly. Been trying to keep a strict budget. When all Maybelline products went to 40% off at Rite Aid (a rare occasion) I jumped at the chance to get this palette. The original price was $10.99 but with the 40% off it was only $6.59. I also had a $5 Up reward, so I only paid $2.12 with taxes. Best makeup score ever!!!! I love this palette. It is a "natural makeup" kinda girl's dream. I think its a great alternative to the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I wanted the Naked Palette really bad, but I rationalized that $52 for eyeshadow was not reasonable. Now had that been mascara maybe. I used the Nudes for my Halloween makeup. This is a great all around palette. Perfect for me since I always rock a neutral/natural eye.

I've had this lipstick in my beauty arsenal for a while, but never really used it. I rediscovered it one day and decided to put it in regular rotation. It is a wonderful neutral for ladies with olive and bronze skin-tones. It looks very peachy/fleshy like on. The best image I can associate with this lip color is Angelina Jolie when she wears a neutral matte lip. Every lady should find a neutral matte lippie. Stop by MAC and try this one out, I'm sure you'll love it!

If you guys have been reading my blog for some time, you know I am a mascara whore. Yes, I fully admit it. If there's a new mascara coming out I'm jumping at the chance to try it. I feel mascara just makes you look so much better and more awake than any product out there! I was at Sephora at the end of May picking up my Beauty Insider birthday gift when I saw this little gem in the trial size area near the register. At only $10, I decided to try it and holy smokes I love it. Now I've had several mascaras in rotation since then, but for October I was applying this everyday! Dare I might say its comparable, if not slightly a bit better than the Benefit They're Real Mascara (and I'm all about that mascara). Ladies if you're ever in Sephora at the check out, please give this one a try. I promise you won't be disappointed!

So let me know what your favorites of the month are. I love finding new products to adore! Thanks for stopping by!
