A Beautiful Louisiana Day

Hey everyone! Okay I've been gone for a little while I meant to post this outfit like a week and a half ago but never got around to doing it. It was my day off and one of my friends was suppose to go to a movie with me, but do to other obligations he couldn't. I was pretty upset cause I was looking forward to it the whole week. But of course, stuff happens and you get over it.

Funny thing is I bought this outfit the day before we were suppose go. I was just roaming around Forever 21 talking to some of my freinds who work there and discovered it. The colors are just right for summer. And you guys know I'm a sucker for coral in the summer! Anyways I hope you guys are all enjoying your Thursday. I know I am. It's my first day off in the past 11 days!

Nappy Hair.... Say What???

Hi there again! Giving you guys another outfit update. I wore this on Tuesday, my day off! I went to visit my family again and I enjoyed myself. Talked to my Mommo for hours. Of course I wore my hair real big. I always get so many compliments when I wear my hair like this (mainly from those an opposite race from me). When I noticed that it made me wonder, why wasn't I getting compliments from those of my own race. My baby cousin, who is 4 years old made me think of this topic. He said to my Mommo, "Mommo, look Xan hair, it's nappy." Of course I didn't think it was nappy, but wow it really does bring up the American standard of beauty.

Most girls of my skin tone look at me as if I look awkward or they stare, laugh, and whisper negative comments. So many black women have bought into the idea that straight/relaxed flowing hair is what their hair should look like. Even so to the point that 4 year old think it should look that way. In reality that goes against the natural texture of our hair. Yes, I do get relaxers (not as often as one should), but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to cut all of my relaxed hair off and start over. To let it do it's own natural thing. I love wearing my hair big like this, but the only problem is I don't wanna wait years for it to be the same length again.

Of course I could care less of what they think, cause I'm gonna keep wearing my hair like this when the mood strikes me. And other girls can laugh, point, and stare but it won't phase me cause I love my hair, the way I dress, the way I talk, my clumsiness, my smile; I love me!

It's My Birthday.... And I'll Relax If I Want To!

Hello Loves!!!!! Last week was my 24th birthday!!! I enjoyed a two day break from work. (the day of and the day after). I didn't really do much the day of my birthday. I relaxed and spent time with my family. I got to see my Mommo, nephews, and all my baby cousins. Those little rascals are a trip! Later that evening I spent time with one of my friends! This is the outfit I wore that day. Something pretty yet, simple and cool! I visited with my bestie for a bit cause she had to work, but she bought me the most beautiful gift. A Jewelry box and a mirror. The jewelry inside was already mine. This girl truly knows how girly I am. The pic is at the beginning of this post.

The day after my birthday, my friend/ex-co-manager Lauren took me to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings! We had a great time. We kicked back, enjoyed drinks, and then we browsed around World Market for a bit. And I also bought myself a Nintendo Wii as a b-day gift to myself. I've been wanting it forever. I bought the black one, cause I thought it just looked sleeker and will be less dirty.

Anyways, that's pretty much what I did for my birthday. I have other friends who are going to take me out sometime next week as a late birthday present. I don't remember a time where I've had so many friends that truly care about me! I guess what they say is right, "The friends you make in high school are great, but the ones you make during your college years become some of your closest friends for life!

P.S. Totally digging my Hello Kitty Lunch Bag!!!! LOL!

Corals, Yellows, and Florals... Oh My

Okay loves, so here I am again with another post in the same night as the previous one! I wore this to work last week. I absolutely love everything about this outfit. It shows my uber sweet side. I am so loving coral this season. I think it is turning into one of my fave colors. Not quite pink, but not quite orange. It's the ultimate summer color.

I've had this skirt for quite some time now. It came from Target. I remember seeing it and thinking "it's perfect". And now over a year later, I still think I made a good decision. I decided to pair the skirt with a simple coral tank that i just bought, my floral rosette sandals, and juicy orange, gold, and green bangles.

I talk to you guys next post and I really am going to try to update more often. I have three more outfit posts for you guys. The first will be my birthday outfit, the second is my memorial day outfit and the third will be what I wore earlier today. Okay loves I am going to go to sleep now. It is past 3am! LOL! I'm truly tired.

Hey loves! Here is one of the posts that I promised you. I am sitting here at 3 am to post this for you. These pics are from about a week ago. Like i said in my previous post, I did have pics to put. They were just still on my camera. Anyways I really love this dress. I originally went into Forever 21 to look at a different dress. I saw this one hanging on the rack next to the original dress and decided to try it on also. Of course once I had it on I realized that I liked this one much better. Lately I've been into tribal patterns, so I thought this was a perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. And even though the dress is tribal, I still managed to add a feminine touch with the cream headband. Now to be able to take a walk in the country barefoot while wearing it, sounds nice.
