Olive Branches and Pretty Wings

Hey everyone. Okay, when I say I've been extremely busy with work, I truly mean it. As I've mentioned before, I do work in retail. Therefore, the holiday season is the busiest time for us. Today was my only day off this week. And this upcoming week I only have one day off. So when I do have my day off I usually catch up on sleep, read all the blogs I follow (Thank goodness for google reader, all my fave blogs in one place!), and try my best to catch up with friends. It's funny because my friends expect not to see me for weeks at a time. They always ask me to hangout spontaneously, and then they'll say "Oh wait, you're probably working."

Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know how excited I am about the boots I have on in this post. I looked at the Charlotte Russe website everyday drooling over these. I told myself that I really didn't want to spend $50 on these boots because I have some similar ones in black that I bought a week before. I also didn't want to because i made a promise to a friend to save my money and not shop! Still having trouble keeping that promise! I walked into Charlotte Russe with said friend one day last week and to my surprise, all of their shoes were $20. I told her that I had been wanting those boots for a month and a half and it must be fate for me to have them since they were on sale. She gave me a "shame on you" look, but then looked at the original price and said "well I guess you deserve to treat yourself and it is a good deal!" So I didn't feel as guilty getting them.

I promise I will try my best to update more often. Happy Holidays everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! This is the outfit I wore today! I really wanted to pair my tights with shorts, but felt like I couldn't cause I didn't have any black shorts. So I searched through all my clothing to find the darkest pair I had. And voila, instant bohemian chic!

Hey guys, so sorry for the absence. I truly have been extremely busy with work and trying to get this business with my school straight. I feel like its almost impossible to get a post in now and then. Anyways, is anyone prepared for the holidays? I'm ready as far dealing with an onslaught of holiday shoppers. On the other hand I'm not so ready as far as my own shopping goes! Every year I'm so busy with work that I truly become one of those late holiday shoppers that I despise! I will try to post more often.

Hey guys. I know I haven't been posting for some time now, but I am extremely busy! With my new job position I have so many things I have to get done. Work is really taking it's toll! And of course, I find out today that one of the "big cheeses" is visiting our store on Friday! I'm responsible for visuals in my store. So, of course I'm sorta freaking out cause I have to have 4 visual moves done by tomorrow night. I also have to complete the other moves I've been working on this week.
Any-who, Please forgive me for the blog neglect. I hope to have some more posts soon! I leave you guys with a pic of me and my bestie at her birthday dinner at The Elephant Room!

Sunday Off

Alright, another post for you guys. Remember this dress from my "Interesting Finds" post? I’m enjoying my Sunday off. This week I’m gonna be jam packed at work . I have to do inventory at one store, which is 5 p.m. to 6.am. Last time I did inventory it took us 16 hours. I swear I was delirious afterwards. And my other store is doing a holiday floor set. Last week all I did was unpack and sort freight(merchandise) to prepare for the floor set. Now ni get to do the fun part, work on the visuals!!!! Dressing mannequins, setting up the jewelry/accessories displays, setting the tables and other clothing displays/ walls!

Turquoise Leopard

Sorry I've been away for a while. I've been super busy with work and studying. Just wanted to give you guys a quick outfit update. I wore this to work this past Thursday.

I graduated from college over a year ago (Fashion Design and Merchandising), but I decided to go back this upcoming spring. So I've been preparing for that. Personally, I can not wait to get back to campus and feel productive!

Neutral Wonderland

Hey everyone. Hope all is well with you guys. This is the outfit I wore to work on my first day at my new job Thursday. Got lots of compliments. Usually I don't go for so little color in an outfit, but I was truly inspired by Violet from Many Shades of Purple. Her post "Snuggly Knits and Marshmellows" made me want to try my own snugly knit and lace dress look. I love it when I can find inspiration in other bloggers.

Game Hunting

Okay so I bought this skirt from Abercrombie & Fitch Wednesday. I never really buy anything from there or go in that store. My friend now works there so while waiting on her one day i decided to take a look around to see what they have. The first time I bought something from there was like a year and a half ago! So this skirt is my second item from them. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and the price sealed the deal (12.50)! (Strange fact about A&F: They don't sell anything black, thought that was interesting.)

Ruffles and Lace, How Great!

I thought I should do this quick post. I wore this Sunday to my baby cousin's 1st Birthday party. The hair bows in the previous post are her presents from me. I've been working alot lately and I'm starting another job on Thursday, so that makes 3 jobs. So I would like to apologize in advance for any large gaps between future posts. Okay, so I'm going wash my hair now. See you guys next post!

Hooray for DIY

Hi, I hope everyone is well. I just wanted to post some DIY projects that I've done over the past week. I don't know why but I've just been bitten by the DIY bug! I was inspired to do the earrings because I recently bought a dress and wanted earrings to match. Then I woke up this morning and wanted to do pins/hair clips! So what do you guys think?

Pink Sweaters and Lace

Hey everyone! There's just something about a soft pink sweater and lace that makes you feel romantic, non! I've been loving my two days off from work. I really miss wearing my normal clothes (i.e., not black and white), especially now that it is starting to get cooler. I absolutely love this skirt. I've had it for a year and never wore it cause i always felt it was really dressy. But I was determined to find a way to wear it and here is the finished product.

Retro Elegance

Hi everyone! So i was rummaging through my closet on my day off and saw this dress that i bought 2 years ago! Once i put it on I remembered how much i loved this dress. The cut is very classic while the print seems a little retro. To bring the look together I added pearls, a skinny belt, and a pair my most comfortable heels.

Green Glow

I bought this dress a few weeks ago on sale. I really wanted the pink one exactly like it because i thought it went better with my tall riding boots (seen in first post). I decided to get this one instead because it was cheaper and i was low on cash! As they say, "all's well that ends well". I'm really happy with the outcome! So tell what you guys think of it!

As far as accessories go, i decided on shades orange, red, brown, and gold.

Interesting Finds

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share with you a few things i picked up today. A new Forever 21 store just opened in my mall, so I'm glad i don't have to drive 60 miles to the closet one like i use to. I went in the store dead set on a certain dress and came out with a completely different one! Below is the one i walked away with. Dress- Heritage 1981

Here is an up-close picture of the print on the dress. The color of dress is actually a deep purple but for some reason it shows up navy blue in the pics!

Other things that i got are the two necklaces below. The first one is something i wouldn't usually pick up, but I was really drawn to it for some unknown reason. The reason I got the second one is because I really love elephants and couldn't pass it up! These are from a store called Charming Charlie.
